The Second Annual Florida Field Day was another great success. All 40 of the attendees arrived for the early sign-in and lunch, poolside at the Barnett’s house before heading off to the driving range. As usual, The Meadows golf staff did a great job of making sure everyone got organized and looked after and at 1:00 we headed out to the course.
Just short of 5 hours later we converged back at the club house to exchange stories of high holes, lost balls and to lovingly relive those oh so rare birdies. After a cocktail, courtesy of The Meadows Golf and Country Club, the group converged in the dining room where floor to ceiling picture windows overlooked the practice range, putting green and water fountain. The room looked great, decorated with Canadian flags and MSGA red and black. During the reception and dinner, Maritime music played in the background while a slide show of Sun & Fun golf trip pictures played.
MSGA President, Wynne Meldrum, welcomed members and guests to the event. After an excellent three course dinner, Alan Barnett provided a bit of information about the MSGA to our guests. Scott Doane then made a presentation about his association, the Sun & Fun, which provides escorted golf travel. Finally prizes and awards. The Field Day Co-Champions were Norm Gosse and Bob Delvallet both from Ashburn in Halifax. Other divisional results can be viewed under the Field Day Info tab.
Everyone seemed to enjoy themselves and the sentiment seemed to be that this should become an annual event.

In Appreciation:
To Scott Doane, Sun & Fun Association. Scott drove four hours each way to participate in the day and present to the group. He also donated all the low gross prizes for the divisional winners.
To the Meadows Golf and Country Club. They couldn’t have been more helpful both in planning and execution. Mark Cornelissen assisted in getting the golf piece put together. Doug Domino, General Manager and Glenda Bachner, Membership Sales Director, provided welcome kits, complementary cocktails and discounted golf vouchers. Karen Lawson, the Events Coordinator did a fabulous job of putting together the reception and dining event.
